The Teaching Social Communication Using T.H.E. P.A.C.T. Course is offered in an online format through a series of six 1-hour Web classes for an individual or group for cost-effective use of professional development funds.

The online format is scheduled in a live webinar series, with recorded Web courses to be offered in the future.

During the live online course, participants will:

  • Be shown examples of T.H.E. P.A.C.T. Talk About Conversational Analysis Profile of real-life learner cases
  • View photos and videos of instructional tools and methods for the structured teaching of social communication – incorporating apps, Web tools, and low-tech teaching tools for each of the modules of T.H.E. P.A.C.T.

  1. Participants will list four key research-based elements that are essential to social communication intervention.
  2. Participants will name the four key components of interpersonal communication and give two examples of language skills for each of the four components.

  4. Participants will list and describe each of the five developmental stages of discourse related to conversation skills.
  5. Participants will explain the clinical rationale of T.H.E. P.A.C.T. Talk About Conversational Analysis Profile and list two outcomes of the information gained from the analysis related to goal planning.
  6. Participants will list two examples of instructional lessons and teaching tools for building comprehension of social communication concepts in the Learn About and Read About Modules of T.H.E. P.A.C.T.
