Every Child Can Learn pulls together perspectives of parents, educators, administrators and specialists, and highlights their experiences with T.H.E. P.A.C.T. This framework truly does walk you through how to think about what is most important for a child to learn (at any age), how to create a routine that is exciting but predictable (reducing cognitive load on students who are already carrying SO MUCH) and increases independent learning for ALL. Give it a chance and it truly can transform an individual learning plan, a classroom, a school, and educational systems overall.

For every teacher, in every grade, in any content area

“Every Child Can Learn” is a book for every educator. No matter your grade level, or content area, this book has strategies that can be used with every student. I have used many of the strategies outlined in this book, and as a special educator I found them to be a great way to differentiate material. I have worked with classroom teachers to differentiate materials allowing all students to contribute to and fully participate in classroom projects. An example of this is when I worked with Phyl, and a kindergarten teacher to create a lesson using the book “The Mitten”. Keeping kindergarten students engaged can be tricky, but using strategies from this book, we did a solid 30 minute lesson. Every child had a job, every child participated, and every child made a valuable contribution to the lesson. It was learning at it’s best.

You will find this book very helpful, not only in planning lessons but also in finding ways to reach every learner in your classroom. My reluctant writers thrived when using some of the writing tools you will read about. They knew the process, were better prepared, and much more engaged. They had their favorite tool, and were able to take ownership of their learning.

When it comes to facilitation, the ONLY person I go with is Phyl Macomber. Phyl has facilitated a variety of groups for me over the years: team meetings, committee meetings, entire K-12 staff meetings. When Phyl facilitates, it is as a result of pre-consultation, thorough planning, and a shared vision – she is results-oriented. There is NO BETTER facilitator.

Should be taught in EVERY private and public school in the United States!

Phyl – The bottom line is that T.H.E. P.A.C.T. Module System should be taught in EVERY private and public school in the United States! ALL teachers should be required to take and adopt your system. Your 4-step, structured teaching framework would have a huge “imPACT” on the educational system in our country. All colleges and universities that graduate teachers should teach T.H.E. P.A.C.T. as a required course in order to graduate.
